A solitary strike from Philip Sackey was the difference between Olympics and Inter Allies as the Wonder Club pipped the visitors by a lone goal at the Accra Sports stadium on match day six.
After three successive defeats, Accra Great Olympics have managed to turn the tables in their favor with a handsome victory over regional rivals Inter Allies.
Three defeats on the trot threatened to send the two-time winners of the Ghana Premier League back to the second tier but the Dade Boys have managed to turn situations into their favor as they have gone unbeaten in their last three games – winning twice and drawing the other.
A resurgent Olympics started the brighter of the two and were duly rewarded when Philip Nii Kojo Sackey broke the deadlock in the 28th minute to the delight of the home crowd.
Inter Allies came in the second half much stronger but saw their efforts going wayward or doing little to test Olympics.
Nigerien forward Victorien Adebayor remained the danger man as his movements and quick decision making on the ball proved to be a problem for the Wonder Club but it mattered little as they held on to clinch the much-needed three points.
