The joy of securing three points transcends beyond the pitch and the winning side with supporters left in a state of frenzy while businesses flourish for hours.
That is the case of Elmina Sharks where two supporters who could not hide their joy in seeing their club secure their first home win donated a sum of GHS 1000 (each from two supporters) to the team.
The Fearsome Sharks had picked successive draws at the Paa Kwesi Nduom stadium – a venue which used to be a fortress and a nightmare for any away side especially during the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
Sharks picked only a point in their first home game against Karela United which ended 1-1, the next home game against WAFA ended in a scoreless stalemate.
The third saw Accra Great Olympics snatch a point at the death to share the spoils, Eleven Wonders also repeated the same scoreline in Elmina Sharks’ fourth home game.
But the fifth against Berekum Chelsea which was the toughest on paper, owing to incredible performance of the one-time League winners especially on the road caused many to believe their search for a first home win had to be postponed.
However, a certain Benjamin Boateng nicknamed Mosquito stole the show with a hat-trick to end the appalling home record in the ongoing campaign.
And supporters of the club by names Bash and Nat could not hide their joy after the massive win over Berekum Chelsea donating GHS 1000.00 each to the team.
