Black Stars B and Ashgold striker Shafiu Mumuni has clarified speculations of failing trials with Romanian giants, CFR Cluj following his return to the Obuasi-based outfit.
The 24-year-old Centre forward who had an explosive 2019 for both Ashgold and the home-based Black Stars courted a lot of interest from both local and foreign clubs for his exploits and eventually travelled to Romania for trials.
His imminent move to CFR Cluj is on hold following the widespread outbreak of the global pandemic – coronavirus – which has seen him back in the country.
Speaking to Kumasi FM in a bit to clarify the speculations surrounding his move to the Romanian outfit, he said:
“It is true I went to Romania to have stints with CFR Cluj together with some players from Argentina and Paraguay.
“Everything went on smooth but the FA suspended the league in the week I had to complete the paper works because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“The club president called yesterday and assured he will invite me to complete the paper works whenever the league resumes.
“I still have a contract with Ashgold hence my decision to continue with them when the league resumes” he ended.
