Public Relations Officer for Legon Cities FC, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang has rubbished reports of his outfit terminating the contract of 20 players.
Various reports in the local media landscape have alluded to the fact that the Royals have ended their relationship with a whooping 20 players over their uninspiring performances in the suspended Ghana Premier League – which is 15 matches old.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Y FM, the astute sportscaster classified the reports as false.
“Well I’m not too sure where this story is coming from but what I can say is that as a team we are looking for a few players to augment our squad before the start of the season.
“We obviously need to improve on our performance. If you look at our performance at the end of the first 15 matches it’s not the kind of performance that we were looking forward to before the start of the season.
“So naturally players are going to come and once players come in. Knowing that we can only register 30 players at a time. We intend to move on certain players.
“I can speak on authority that a few of them might go on loan to other clubs and of course certain players may also have their own personal plans and ambitions along the line.
“We are not sacking up to 20 players that’s not true” he ended.
Legon Cities FC are occupying the 15th position in the suspended Ghana Premier League amassing 16 points from a possible 45, winning just three games, drawing 7 and losing on five occasions after 15 games.
