Erstwhile Asante Kotoko and Black Stars goaltender Joseph Carr has made a clarion call to Ghanaians to honour their sporting heroes before they pass on to eternity.

Opoku Afriyie – Asante Kotoko legend

Reacting to the demise of former play mate – Opoku Afriyie – Malik Jabir argued Ghanaians tend to honour their heroes when they pass away.

“Ghanaians didn’t honour him very well after he passed on. Ghanaians should honour us we the living ones very well before before we die” he told Kumasi-based Ashh FM.

He however, reminisced his time with the goal wizard and paid glowing tributes to him.

“I was shocked when I heard the news that my brother Opoku Afriyie has passed on.

“I played with him since 1972 when we went to under 20 and and the senior side the Black Stars of Ghana. I can tell you my brother is the most truthful man I have worked with in the national team and he is a good leader” he ended.
