Asante Kotoko Public Relations Officer, Kennedy Boakye Ansah has strongly opposed calls for pay cuts in the wake of the novel coronavirus.

Calls for players on the local scene to mimic their European counterparts by taking pay cuts amid the indefinite suspension of all football related activities in the wake of COVID-19 is fast gaining roots.

Speaking on the matter, the astute media practitioner believes European solutions can’t solve African problems.

“I have always had the conviction that European solutions can’t solve African problems, apart from Kotoko and Hearts who pay their players considerably well” he told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

“How much do other clubs pay? he quizzed.

“They pay peanuts and we talking about pay cuts. We haven’t considered pay cuts” he concluded.
