Former Hearts of Oak icon Bernard Dong Bortey believes he is better than most of the current players in the Ghana Premier League despite calling time on his illustrious football career.

The Serial Killer as he was known during his prime terrorized defence in the country’s top-flight with his lightning-quick speed, mazy runs and a knack for the extraordinary.

Bortey, 37, was billed to play for Great Olympics prior to the start of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League but talks between the two parties broke down.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Sikka FM, Dong Bortey argued he is better than most of the current players playing in the league.

“I can decide to play or hang my boot, my two kids are playing football and one of them is in the national team.

“Not that I can’t play again, but I have to call it a day even though I’m better than most of the current ones” he concluded.
