Former Asante Kotoko forward Songne Yacouba is set to join Zambian outfit Zesco United as a free agent according to online portal Ghanacrusader.com.

The Burkinabe’s deal with Asante Kotoko expired last month despite numerous contract extension negotiations which eventually proved futile.

According to Ghanacrusader.com sources, the two parties have began initial talks with signs of an imminent move on the cards.

The Zambian outfit were previously rebuffed by Kotoko when they approached the player on the back of his impressive display in the 2018-2019 CAF Confederations Cup in which Kotoko and Zesco were in the same group but it appears they will get their man on a free this time.

Reports suggested that Zesco were initially chasing the signature of the red-hot Daniel Gozar, who has banged in eleven goals in South Africa’s second tier but teams in the ABSA Premier League are hot on the heels of the Ghanaian with the player interested in a move to the top-flight rather than a switch to Zambia.
