Mamelodi Sundowns and Uganda shot-stopper Dennis Onyango is not perturbed by an imminent potential competition from Ghana’s Richard Ofori as the Brazilians show interest in securing the services of the former Wa All Stars goalie.
Ofori’s superb form in post for Maritzburg United has aroused a lot of interest from the big wigs in the ABSA Premier League with Masandawana chasing the signature of the in-form Ghanaian goalkeeper.
Onyango, goalkeeper for Mamelodi Sundowns has intimated he is ever ready to welcome Ofori to the former African champions.
“I don’t have a problem with competition. Richard Ofori can come. He’s welcome,” Onyango told Power FM in South Africa
“I won’t be greedy because I can’t play when I’m 40 or 45 or 50. Others will have to take the team forward. And Ofori was here before he went to Maritzburg United.”
Richard has been one of the top goalkeepers in the South African top-flight this season and has been tipped to win the Best goalkeeper award in the league having kept 10 clean sheets in 22 matches and conceded only 17 goals.
Onyango was ranked as the tenth best goalkeeper in 2016 ahead of Pete Cech, Inter Milan’s Samir Handanovic and Marc Andre Ter Stergen of Barcelona.
