English Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Brest star Ibrahima Diallo. The 21-year-old is believed to be on the radar for Leicester City and it’s now clear that the defensive midfielder will not be playing at the French Ligue 1 outfit next season.

London news outlet Daily Star claims the 13-time league champions are preparing to launch a bid for the Malian international.

With two unidentified midfielders poised for Gunners exit, the club is said to have identified Diallo as a potential addition to their attacking option.

The report added an opening bid of £20 million will be launched but it remains to be seen whether the offer will be entertained with Brest believed to have rejected a similar package from Sevilla six months ago.

The holding midfielder has made 17 Ligue 1 starts before the league was annulled.

He had averaged 2.1 tackles per game with an 85.6% pass-accuracy rate.Diallo joined Brest in July last year from another French top-flight side for just €2million.

Diminutive and good on the ball, it has come as no surprise that top sides from around Europe are monitoring the wonder kid’s progress.
