Prisons Ladies player, Helena Obeng has bemoaned of her weight since football was halted due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Football in the country has been on hold since mid-March following directives from the president in a bid to contain the spread of the virus by issuing a ban on all public gathering which includes football.

The toll of the virus is not only affecting the finances of the stakeholders of the game but also the fitness level of the main architects – footballers – who have resorted to personal training.

However, not all can cope owing to the prevalent conditions, Helena Obeng, who doubles as a Prisons officer decried her job aside football takes a chunk of her time making her adopt a sedentary lifestyle.

“I’m growing fat because I lack training time due to my job. Eating and sleeping have been a routine thing after work. The break has really affected us because we will need new stamina to deliver if the league resumes” Helena Kumasi-based told OTEC FM.

The attacker has been one of the most instrumental players for the one-time FA Cup champions bagging three goals and four assists to put Prisons Ladies at the summit of the Northern Zone in the suspended 2019-2020 season.
