Founder of Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor contends female footballers should be paid more than their male counterparts in the country.
Since the turn of the millennium, giant strides have been made in relation to gender equality with females taking prominent roles within the corridors of power.
That cannot be said in football with the male gender earning surreal figures that can only be real in the dreams of their female counterparts. This situation has seen the ilk of Worod Cup gold medalist Morgan Rapinoe championing equality in terms of wages for female footballers.
But popular politician, Madam Akua Donkor wants female footballers to earn more than their male counterparts.
“Female footballers in Ghana should be paid more than the men” she told Kumasi-based Sikka FM.
