The sports competitions in the Ivy League won’t be held in the Fall and Winter seasons this year (Between October and December), Report by Basketballghana.

This is due to the sharp rise of corona virus infections in the United States of America which is over two millions with over 100,000 deaths at the time of writing.

The 2020-2021 season is likely to commence in the spring of 2021 (April to May); the changes will delay Ghana’s Yussif Basa-Ama’s freshman year at Yale University.

The postponement affects all sports including American Football and Basketball with prestigious Universities like Yale, Havard and Columbia’s calendars likely to be altered.

6 foot 9 Inch Power Forward Basa-Ama committed to Yale after receiving several scholarship offers from the likes of Havard, Florida Golf Coast University, University of South Florida and Florida International University.

Basa-Ama averaged 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 blocks per game helping St. Andrew’s High School Basketball Team clinch Florida State title via an 83-62 win over Velma Jackson in his senior year.

The Ivy League cancelled the remaining portions of the 2019-2020 season due to the virus and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) followed suit.
