James Wiafe Iniesta, attacker of Dreams Football Club has expressed his joy on his inclusion in the club’s all-time best XI by head coach Karim Zito.
On 14 July 2009, a football conglomerate of Mohammed Jiji Alifoe, Kurt Okraku, and Prince Abdul Hamid formed a second division side bearing the name Dreams FC – which has since climbed the Ghanaian football pyramid to the top flight.
The eleven-year journey of the club has since produced eminent alumni such as Abdul Baba Rahman, Leonard Owusu, Emmanuel Lomortey, John Antwi, Benjamin Tetteh, Samuel Alabi among a host of others.
23-year-old attacker, James Wiafe, whose deft touches and sublime ball technique which blindfolds his markers, has seen him draw comparisons with Barcelona and Spanish legend Andres Iniesta could not hide his joy on his inclusion by the former Asante Kotoko gaffer.
“I’m very much happy, it’s a privilege for me as a player to get that recognition from one of the best managers in Ghana football. Because, so many players have passed through Dreams FC and if I’m part of the all-time 11 then it means my hard work has not gone unnoticed,” he told online portal sportscorna.com
Wiafe joined the Dawu-based side in 2017 from second tier side Proud United. He was billed for a move to Greek side Trikala FC but the coronavirus pandemic has since delayed the move. Despite the delay, the European side remain interested in landing the talented attacker.
