AC Milan legend and head coach of Serie B side Benevento Calcio, Filippo Inzaghi has heaped praises on Ghanaian duo Bright Gyamfi and Abdallah Basit despite his side’s 2-0 loss against Trapani.
Although both youngsters were hurled off by Inzaghi in the second half, the brother of Lazio manager Simeone Inzaghi identified Gyamfi and Basit as stand-out performers in his side.
Speaking to pressmen via TMW, Inzaghi said:
“Tonight, the youngsters are the only positive note. They trained well and gave a great demonstration. The best were Di Serio, Bright Gyamfi and Abdallah Basit. Their response was optimal, they let themselves be found in the right place at the right time: I am happy for them”.
He added as he admonished his charges to finish the season on a high note by clinching the rest of the 9 points at stake as they ready themselves for the top-flight next season.
“And then we insert fresh forces to conquer those nine points that would allow us to achieve another record. We don’t have to get used to the fact that we can lose, otherwise Serie A becomes complicated. ”
Benevento are currently on top of the league standings with 77 points.
They will face another relegation-bound side Livorno for the Serie B match fixtures on Friday.
