Communication’s Director of the Eastern region Football Association, Solomon Opoku Acheampong better known in rhe media circles as General Manucho has thrown light on the groundbreaking deal between the regional FA and iGimel.
The United Kingdom based kit manufacturers, who broke into the Ghanaian market after agreeing a three-year deal with Obuasi-based Ashgold shortly signed a deal with Eastern regional FA.
The historic agreement between the two parties will see iGimel kit clubs in Ghana’s third tier based in the Eastern region whiles a certain quota of monies will be disbursed among Division two, Division three, Juvenile, Colts and Women Football outfits based in the region.
“Is very true the RFA has secured a deal worth $35.000 with iGimel company from UK where they will kits our clubs in the Region,” Manucho confirmed to Nkunim 93.7 FM.
He explained the details of the deal.
“For now they will kits only the division two teams but in terms of the financial package, the money will be shared among all the divisions within the region i.e (Division 2, Division 3, Juvenile, Colts, Women Football),”
“Any team which will qualify from the Division 2 to Division 1 and the winner of the Eastern Cup will be taken to Europe for a tour by iGimel,”
“We don’t have any stipulated time for the expiration of the contract but it will be a long term contract,” he ended.
