In his quest to giving young talents the opportunity to play at the highest level, Pitso Mosimane has promoted South Africa U-20 star – Malebogo ‘Bale’ Modise to the first team.

“Masandawana we’re proud to announce that youngster Malebogo “Bale” Modise has been promoted from the Mamelodi Sundowns Youth Academy to the First Team. Up pointing backhand index,” the club announced via its Twitter handle.

Coach Pitso Mosimane described the 21-year-old Modise as a player that can play as a left-back and left-winger with speed and said

“He is young and has height with a quality left foot. He fits the characteristics of our wingbacks as he can attack and defend,” he said.

“He has been part of the junior national team and it is the right time to have him over. We can proudly say we are producing players from our youth system,” he added.

Malebogo follows in the footsteps of other Mamelodi Sundowns Youth Academy graduates like Keletso Makalgwa, Sphelele Mkhulise, Motjeka Madisha, Abram Ngcobo, Nicholus Lukhubeni, Promise Mkhuma, Harold Majadibodu and Percy Tau, who is plying his trade abroad.

The Brazilians have recently welcomed two new additions to their squad after securing the signatures of both Lesedi Kapinga and George Maluleka.
