Head coach of the senior men’s national team, Charles Kwabla Akonnor is seeking redemption as his side lock horns against Asian champions Qatar in an international friendly.

The former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak gaffer, who had to wait several months before supervising his first game as Black Stars coach was taking to the cleaners when his side succumbed to a 3-0 embarrassing defeat on Friday.

Ahead of today’s fixture against Qatar, C.K Akonnor says he will approach the game differently as he envisages redemption.

“Approach is going to be different. First of all, against Mali we were not compact and I am looking forward to improve in that area to be compact and of course how we approach, how we attack,” he told GFA Media.

He added: “How we attack in the way of offensive play was not effective and we need to improve in that area and of course defensively we allowed too many chances to the opponent,”

“We worked on it yesterday, we have discussed it, today we going to continue and hopefully tomorrow you will see a lot improvement. I am very, very positive about that and I know that we will improve in that area,” he ended.
