Dawu-based Ghana Premier League outfit Dreams FC secured their first victory of the current campaign with a 2-1 win over title favourites Medeama SC at the Theater Of Dreams on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from former Hearts of Oak forward Joseph Esso and substitute Ibrahim Issah were enough to hand the home side their first victory of the season inadvertently thwarting the efforts of Kwadwo Asamoah.
Esso, who joined the Still Believe lads prior to the start of the season, broke his Goalscoring duck for Dreams FC with a trademark powerful effort after thirteen minutes.
Medeama could have drew level before half time but goalie Solomon Agbasi scored full marks to deny Eric Kwakwa and Michael Yeboah with superlative saves to end the first stanza favour of the homesters.
After recess, Medeama probed further for an equalizer and deservedly drew level through substitute and erstwhile Dreams FC attacker Kwadwo Asamoah, who was introduced as replacement for Michael Yeboah, with eighteen minutes left on the clock.
Just when it appeared, the game will end in a stalemate, Dreams FC earned themselves a penalty through the industry of Joseph Esso which was expertly converted by Issah Ibrahim to give Dreams FC all the points at stake.
