Capital-based outfit Legon Cities have announced former Black Queens head coach Bashir Hayford as manager of the Royals following the dismissal of Goran Barjakteravic.
Barjakteravic, who joined Legon Cities prior to the start of the annulled 2019/20 Ghana Premier League became the first coaching casualty of the ongoing Ghanaian top flight after he was sacked in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The Serbian tactician mustered a point in two games of the current campaign – where his side picked a 2-2 draw with Berekum Chelsea before falling to a shocking 3-0 defeat to Great Olympics on match day two, which triggered his sack.
Meanwhile his replacement Bashir Hayford, will be returning to the dugout for the first time in the Ghana Premier League after he resigned from his post as head coach of Ashgold.
Since his exit from Ashgold, the outspoken Hayford has had stints with the Black Queens and Somalia national team before his botched attempt at sealing the GFA Technical Director role.
Hayford brings a truckload of top flight experience to Legon Cities, who are seeking to leave a mark on the domestic scene following their swashbuckling transfer deals.
