Black Stars B head coach Ibrahim Tanko has backed Ghana’s contingents in the CAF interclub competitions – Asante Kotoko and Ashgold – to thrive in their various continental assignments.
Asante Kotoko, record holders of the Ghanaian top flight, will cross swords with FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League tonight while Obuasi-based outfit Ashgold will square off against Salitas this afternoon at the Len Clay sports stadium.
Both teams managed to skip past the preliminary stages in the last edition, however failed to reach the group stages, a feat both clubs will aiming to achieve.
Throwing his weight behind the sides, Ibrahim Tanko took to his official Twitter account to wish the two clubs well in their impending exercises.
Dear porcupine and the Miners, we are with you and for you! We believe in the capabilities of your players, the Technical team and the management to make Ghana proud, Do it for your self, Do it for the fans! Wear your shirts with pride guys, and lets get the job done.🙏
