Senegal Teen Sensation Pape Matar Sarr’ Long-awaited Debut Ends In Defeat For Metz

Young Senegal international Pape Matar Sarr finally made his official debut for FC Metz in their 2-0 defeat to Stade Brestois at the Stade Saint Symphorien Stadium, Sportscorna.com can report.

Since his move from their feeder club in Senegal, Génération Foot Academy in the summer transfer window the 18-year-old had not tasted action in the French top-flight, making the bench in back-to-back games against AS Saint-Etienne, Nimes Olympique and Dijon FC, before he was brought on in the 55th minute over the weekend against Stade Brestois.

Wearing the number 15 at the back of his jersey, Matar Sarr replaced Malian International Mamadou Fofana in a tactical substitution.

Matar Sarr was a member of the Senegal-U17 squad that featured in the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations and 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup held in Brazil.
