Sports Sector Will Witness Major Infrastructure Under John Mahama – Alhaji Mbalba

The NDC-UK/Ireland chapter Chairman Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba has highlighted on key points in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto which will be implemented by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama when elected as President by Ghanaians come December 7.

Alhaji Mbalba in an interview stated that The National Democratic Congress under the leadership of former President Jerry John Rawlings made sure athletes always come back home with laurels anytime they go for tournaments.

“If I could recollect His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as the President built the Bukom Sports Emporium which is dedicated to only boxing. I can assure you that the next NDC government will build FIFA/CAF stadiums in the newly created regions”.

“His Excellency John Dramani Mahama together with Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will take Ghana to its old sports recognition. Believe me, Ghanaians will witness an aggregate in the sports sector. There will be no player exodos in the domestic league.” Alhaji Mbalba added

“The next NDC government will bring the Sheikhs in the middle East to invest in our sports so that players will no more think about rushing overseas”.

Alhaji Mbalba furthermore stated that the National Democratic Congress under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama will set up a Sports Fund which will be given to the Sports federations including the Ghana Football Association.

Former players who have played and served the nation like Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, CK Akonnor, Kwame Ayew, Sola Ayew, Stephen Appiah, John Mensah, Emmanuel Armah, Charles Taylor among others will serve as role models to unearth talents across the country so that Ghana can have a formidable and solid team.

He added that The Ghana Boxing Association will see boxers in the spirit of former boxers like DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Nana Yaw Konadu, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey among others *helping to strengthen the asociation and revitalise the boxing sport in Ghana.
