‘Bright Star’ Asamoah Opens Goalscoring Account For New Side

Former Black Starlets player Simon Appiah Asamoah opened his goal scoring account with a brace for Liberty Professional in the Ghanaian top-flight on Sunday.

Liberty Professional recorded a 2-0 home victory over regional rivals Accra Great Olympics at the Carl Reindorf Park.

The 18-year-old broke the deadlock in the 28th minute of the game inadvertently registering his maiden goal for the Scientific Soccer lads.

He doubled the lead for his side with fifteen minutes left on the clock.

The former Legon Cities FC (formerly known as Wa All Stars FC) youngster enjoyed the duration of the game.

Asamoah joined the Dansoman based outfit from Ghanaian lower-tier side Sporting Club Accra on a season long loan deal.

He was part of the Ghana U-17 team that played at the WAFU-U17 Championship held in Niger.

Ghana made it to the finals but lost to West African rivals Nigeria on penalties.
