Ghanaian right back Ernest Boahene has joined French Ligue 1 Club FC Metz, Sportscorna.com can exclusively confirm.
Boahene who had stints with Right to Dream Academy, Kumasi Rainbow FC inked a short-term deal as a free agent with the Maroons until June 30, 2021 with an option to extend after the season.
The 20-year-old will continue his career with FC Metz after he secured his contract with his new employers after his loan deal contract expired with French Ligue 2 side Paris FC – which the capital-based outfit did not activate the permanent deal in their contract.
Boahene however was on the bench for FC Metz in their 2-2 draw with RC Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau Stadium in the city of Strasbourg.
The Ghanaian international was expected to play his first match for FC Metz in their game against Strasbourg but watched the entire duration of the match from the bench.
He becomes the second Ghanaian footballer to join FC Metz after John Boye who is the club captain.
Boahene will wear jersey no. 20 at the club.
