Goalie Ibrahim Danlad Grateful To Allah After Ghana Sealed Qualification To AFCON U20

Black Satellites shot-stopperIbrahim Danlad expressed his gratitude to his Maker following Ghana’s qualification to the finals of the WAFU U20 Qualifiers and most importantly booking a spot in the African competition next year.

Ghana, three-time African champions will be making a record 11th appearance at the competition slated for Mauritania in 2021.

After 120 minutes of gruelling soccer proved not enough to separate both sides the game went straight to sudden death – Ghana’s achilles heel.

Before the shootouts Coach Karim Zito brought on goalkeeper Emmanuel Essu for Danlad Ibrahim as penalties approached.

In the shootouts, Emmanuel Essu, Abdul Mugeese Zakaria, Percious Boah, Suleymana Mohammed and substitute Frank Boateng converted the winning penalty for Ghana in a pensive shootout at the Charles de Gaulle stadium in Porto-Novo.

The last time Ghana qualified for the African Youth Championship was in 2015.

The Asante Kotoko goalie took to his Facebook page to thank Allah for the clean sheet and Ghana’s final date with Burkina Faso.
