Kumasi-based heavyweights Asante Kotoko have parted ways with head coach Maxwell Konadu less than 24 hours after losing narrowly to Great Olympics.
According to a post on the club’s official Twitter account the Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club decided to part ways with Coach Maxwell Konadu as its Head Coach with immediate effect.
Meanwhile former Karela United trainer Coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in the interim.
Asante Kotoko, record holders of the Ghanaian top flight, have struggled to stamp their authority in the five-game old competition picking a solitary win in four outings.
The former Black Stars assistant manager has come under serious scrutiny following his side’s poor showing on the field amid a lack of fire power in front of goal despite the club’s massive investment in the transfer window.
