Former Azam FC goalkeeper Razak Abalora kept a clean sheet on the day to led Ghana Premier League giant’s Asante Kotoko SC to their second victory in the Week 6 of the 2020/21 League Season.
The Black Stars shot-stopper joined the side on a three year deal as a free agent after his contract with Tanzania giants Azam FC had expired.
He took charge of the post for the first time against Dreams FC on match day six of the Ghana Premier League since joining the Porcupine Warriors.
Asante Kotoko SC went away to beat Dreams FC at Dawu in match day 6 fixture. The side who weren’t dangerous in the first half of the game, were lucky to break the deadlock after several attacks by Dreams FC had failed.
Imoro Ibrahim with a left footed ‘howitzer’, scored in Dawu from William Opoku cross which was meant for Kwame Opoku in the 18-yard box of the homers, it passed by to find the former Bolga All Stars and Karela United left back to gross Asante Kotoko SC to end the first half victorious.
Dreams FC with all their arsenals could not find the response despite playing better again in the second department. Bringing on Precious Boah to augment their attack.
Razak Abalora was called to duty a couple of times following series of dangerous balls being oriented by the home team to register their goal.
However, all efforts to score failed as Asante Kotoko SC mustered a sweet victory to dust off a difficult week – following the sacking of Maxwell Konadu and the resignation of Communications Manager Moses Antwi Benefo affectionately called PJ Mozey.
The win marks their second victory of the 2020/21 league season.
Asante Kotoko will next face Medeama Sporting Club after their assignment in Africa, on December 23, 2020 against Al Hilal of Sudan.
