Asante Kotoko Ashanti Regional Circles Committee chairman Mr. Benjamin Obeng Sekyere has revealed that the supporters are not happy about how the team is been run and want the board of directors to act with alacrity.
The outspoken supporters leader registered his displeasure following the club’s underwhelming performance in the domestic league and the recent exit from the CAF Champions League.
Asante Kotoko had to forfeit their return leg encounter against Al Hilal Omdurman due to their inability to raise a substantive team for the crucial game.
The Porcupine Warriors according to a report filed by Kumasi-based media outlet Oyerepa FM, will be heading to the Court of Arbitration for Sports with substantial evidence as a second test results conducted by a Military Hospital in Khartoum proves otherwise and could be the game changer as the two-time African champions aim to be reinstalled in the competition.
Speaking to the recent happenings at the club, Obeng Sekyere argued:
“We got faith in the current board members when they were appointed by His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II because of their pedigree and wisdom but things are not going as we expected. We disagree with some decisions made by the team” Obeng Sekyere told Kumasi based OTEC FM
“We [the supporters] are not happy about how the team is being run of late. We appeal to the board to stand on their feet and put things to order” he added
“Before last year’s Africa campaign, our problem was how to score goals, management couldn’t solve that problem before the start of this year’s Africa inter-club competition. With all these, we are not happy as supporters and we need the board to act fast” he concluded.
