Two-time winners of the Ghanaian FA Cup, Medeama recorded their maiden home victory of the 2020-2021 Ghana Premier League when they edged Aduana Stars 2-1 at the Akoon park on Saturday afternoon.
A brace from Agyenim Boateng was enough to brush aside the long wait for their first home win of the campaign.
The Tarkwa-based outfit commenced the game on the front foot and came as little surprise when they broke the deadlock to the delight of the supporters.
Erstwhile Asante Kotoko forward Abass Mohammed cut back to set up strike partner Agyenim Boateng inside the six yard box to sweep home the first goal.
The goal awoke the sleeping guests who were on the back foot for most part of the first quarter and managed to equalize through the boots of Bright Adjei after 26 minutes.
The homesters were duly rewarded for their persistent probe in the second half when Agyenim Boateng got his personal second and most importantly the game’s winner.
Agyenim Boateng’s brace were enough to hand Medeama their maiden home victory and second win of the eight-game-old domestic topfligt.
