Nigeria international Henry Chukwuemeka Onyekuru scored for the second consecutive game as Galatasary S.K defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0 at the Turk Telekom Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Onyekuru opened the scoring for Galatasary in the 45th minute with a bullet header from a brilliant delivery into the box by Ryan Donk.
Donk turned from provider to scorer when he headed home a corner in the 64th minute and then former Zamalek striker Mostafa Mohamed converted a spot kick to make it 3-0 in the second minute of stoppage time.
Last week, the Aspire Academy graduate scored twice in his first game back in the Turkish Süper Lig when they won at Gaziantep FK and has now taken his tally up to three goals in his first two games.
Galatasary S.K have 45 points from 22 matches three points behind Fenerbache.
He was replaced in stoppage time with Turkey defender Omer Bayram.
Onyekuru is on his third loan spell at Galatasary who also have the option to buy him for six million Euros from French Ligue 1 Club AS Monaco at the end of the season.
At Monaco has failed to nail a spot in the team with three different managers all keen to see the Nigeria out of the door as he didn’t fit into their plans – this has also affected his international career with the senior national team of Nigeria.
