Ghana’s leading all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan has blacklisted Joy FM – a subsidiary of Multimedia Group of Company following a post made by the latter.
The former Sunderland forward took to his official Twitter account to express his disappointment in the media giants on the back of an earlier post made by the media house.
It would be recalled that Joy 99.7 FM in the early hours of February 4, 2020 quizzed the general public about one of the country’s and to a larger extent Africa’s saddest footballing moments when Asamoah Gyan missed a last-gasp penalty which could have sent Ghana to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup eleven years ago.
The tweet garnered a lot of response with many Ghanaians recounting the painful ordeal however it appears the tweet did not sit well with the now Legon Cities center forward, who also took to the ‘Bird App’ in a rebuttal inadvertently registering his displeasure.
Gyan’s decision to blacklist Joy FM from his books has divided opinions with many suggesting the second all-time leading scorer of Al Ain was a little bit emotional and took the tweet too personal while others have sided with the ‘Baby Jet’.
I have lost Respect for you guys. From today, @Joy997FM is out on my list. You should be ashamed of your self. Learn how to respect. Smh

Asamoah Gyan, who currently plies his trade with Legon Cities missed his side’s stalemate with Ghana Premier League leaders Karela United this afternoon and has now missed 7 consecutive games amassing a paltry 74 minutes since joining the Royals which has largely been caused by niggling injury.
