Ghanaian footballing greats Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston have taken a leaf from the books of the Maldini family, who eased their wards into the footballing fraternity at AC Milan.

The name Maldini resonates with lovers of Italian football and faithfuls of the Rosonerri will relate to this name better.

Cesare Maldini who beget Paolo Maldini, played for the Red and Blacks before easing his son to football through the same ranks before Paolo rose to become a club legend and beget Christian and Daniel – both who were introduced to football at AC Milan and it appears Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston want to tow the same line.

According to the latest intelligence gathered by renowned sports journalist Saddick Adams, affectionately called ‘Sports Obama’ Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston will see their wards joining Ghana Premier League outfit Great Olympics soon.

Jacob Kingston and Rodney Appiah, sons of former Black Stars greats, Laryea Kingston and Stephen Appiah, have started training with the Accra-based outfit who recently defeated their city rivals Hearts of Oak in the Mantse Derby.

Per the sources close to Sports Obama, the two youngsters will be putting pen to paper in the coming weeks.

Ironically, all two – Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingston – came into the limelight on the other side of the capital, Accra Hearts of Oak before their escapades in Europe.

And it appears they want to ease their wards to the footballing fraternity via the local scene which will in many ways benefit both parties.
