Liberty Professionals moved out of the relegation zone after beating Premier League rivals Ashantigold in their league fixture at the Len Clay stadium on Sunday.
Kwame Karikari’s strike in the 39th minute was all that the Scientific Soccer Lads needed to over the Obuasi-based outfit.
Liberty, who were on a a five game winless run started the day in the 16th position after taking just 11 points from their previous 12 games in the top-flight.
Ashgold, on the other hand looked the favorite to clinch all three points at home, having failed to win any of their last five games since the win over Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The results also meant that the Dansoman-based football club have now won their first away league game since the start of the 2020/21 season.
The goal conceded against Liberty means that, AshGold have now conceded 18 goals in their opening twelve games of a top-flight season for the first time since 2017 season when they shipped in 20 goals.
They will be looking for a solution to their recent poor form when they WAFA at the WAFA stadium next weekend while Liberty are hopeful on riding on this success against a struggling Inter Allies team.
