Elmina Sharks engaged Berekum Chelsea at the Nduom stadium in the Ghana Premier League on Monday.
Sharks, who had managed four draws and one in their last five games failed to capitalise on their lead in the 28th minute, allowing the away side into the game.
James Bissue opened the scoring for Sharks, who made four changes to their set up for the encounter. The lead could only last for two minuted as Stephen Sarfo drew Chelsea levelled.
The away side got the better of Sharks in the closing embers of the game but were unable to make good use of the opportunities that fell their way.
Despite being unbeaten in the last six games, Elmina Sharks remain in the 13th position, with three points above the relegation zone while the Berekum-based side have taken just two points from their last seven games away from home.
