The English Premier League resumed to the screens of football fanatics on Saturday with Liverpool travelling to Leicester.
The game at the King Power Stadium saw Leicester City come back from a goal down to defeat Liverpool by three goals to one.
However, for the many Ghanaians who follow the English game, it was the performance of Daniel Amartey that they may have paid attention to.
The 26-year-old was handed a start in the fixture due to injuries to full-backs James Justin and Timothy Castagne, meaning that the Ghanaian slotted in at right-back.
Amartey fared very well in the game, though it was not his best of games under the management of Brendan Rodgers.
Liverpool took the lead through Mohammed Salah, but three quick goals from James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes turned things around for the Foxes, who now find themselves second on the league table.
Amartey would be delighted with the opportunity and trust given him by the gaffer and the game time is also likely to boost his confidence after his lengthy time on the sidelines.
He also played the full time during the the FA Cup fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, where his side won by a goal to nil.
