Kumasi Asante Kotoko resumed their quest to feature in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors hosted Algerian outfit ES Setif in the last round of the qualifiers hoping to secure a first leg advantage.
However, the Setif came from a goal down to beat the Kumasi-based side with a 2-1 scoreline, leaving fans of the club stunned.
Despite taking a blow to their qualification hopes, the team is expected to receive the promised Ghc 30,000 as per Kwadwo Boateng Gyenfi.
The Spokesperson of Kotoko’s Board of Directors revealed that his colleagues went to the rooms of the players individually to “tell them they have done well.”
“We had promised them Ghc 30,000 to win but even though they couldn’t win tomorrow [Monday] we will give to them,” he told Oyerepa FM/TV.
