According to reports from local-based radio station, Fox FM, the Sporting Director of Al Sadd, Abdul Hussein was at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The executive of the Qatari side reportedly came to watch Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Poku as the Porcupine Warriors hosted ES Setif.
The striker was on target as his side suffered a 1-2 loss to the Algerian side in the qualifiers of the CAF Confederations Cup.
Close source indicates that the coach of Al Saad Xavi Hernandez Cruz was impressed by the performance Poku churned out against Liberty Professionals including that outstanding goal he scored, hence he tasked Abdul Hussein to come and asses the player in the Setif game.
Kwame Poku has been in superb form for Kotoko in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, scoring some vital goals to keep his side in the running for another league title.
His links to Al Sadd may not be of too much surprise considering his impressive output this campaign but it will be a big loss for Abdul Gazale’s men should they lose one of their top assets in the middle of the season.
