Asante Kotoko could face a string battle to keep in-form striker Kwame Poku, with interest in him growing every now and then.
The forward has been in scintillating form for the Porcupine Warriors since the start of the 2020/21 league season, scoring six goals in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
His performances has seen him earn strong interest from clubs on the African continent as well as other parts of the world.
Earlier reports suggested the player was being scouted by Qatari side Al Sadd, who had an official watching from the stands when Kotoko played E.S Setif last Sunday – a game in which the player found the back of the net.
News coming in from Fox FM also claims that Mamelodi Sundowns are ready to test Kotoko’s resolve by tabling a bid in the region of $1.5 million for one of their top assets.
Clubs like Ah Ahly of Egypt, DR Congo’s AS Vita, and USM Alger of Algeria have all been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old while Norwegian outfit Stabaek are also said to be monitoring the situation of the player.
Kwame Poku will be in action for the Porcupines once again on Sunday when they play the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup game against Setif in Algeria.
