Former Ghana U-20 star Zakaria Mumuni and his manager have arrived in the Western Region Precisely Sekondi-Takoradi for his move to Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club, Sportscorna.com can exclusively confirm.
The inside forward and his manager landed in Sekondi-Takoradi with Africa World Airlines Flight Number 132 in the 8:00 GMT on Monday before they connected from Sekondi-Takoradi to Tarkwa to complete his move to the Mauve and Yellow lads.
Mumuni had been on the wishlist of Asante Kotoko since the beginning of the Ghanaian transfer window.
The forward did express his desire to join the Porcupine Warriors after his contract expired with the Congolese giant AS Vita Club on January 10, 2021.
But Medeama SC look to have won the race ahead of Asante Kotoko to sign the Techiman-born in the ongoing transfer window.
He is expected to meet the management of Medeama this morning, were he will sign a two-year deal should negotiations go on well before he will have his medical examination.
Once that is done, an official announcement will follow in the coming days from the management of the club to unveil the new signing.
Before ending his stint with Dr Congo, the former WAFA widesman made twenty-three league appearances, scoring three goals and provided four assist for AS Vita Club during the 2019/2020 Congo DR league which was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and also featured eight times in the CAF Champions League notching one goal in the flagship continental competition.
Mumuni previously featured for West African Football Academy SC and Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League before switching to DR Congo.
