Ghanaian forward Isaac Atanga was handed his FC Cincinnati debut on Saturday night as his new club suffered defeat at the hands of Orlando City in the United States Eastern Conference of the Major League Soccer for the first time since his move to the club.
The 20-year-old forward started the match in attack for his new employers when they suffered a 0-3 loss to Orlando City at the Explaria Stadium.
Atanga lasted 55 minutes on the field before his position was taken by New Zealand attacker Calvin Harris – at the time his team was trailing by two goals.
Goals from Tesho Akindele, former Manchester United player Luis Carlos Almeida de Conha ‘Nani’ and Junior Urso on the first, 19th and 80th minutes respectively ensured that the Ghanaian’s debut ended on a sad note.
The Ghanaian inside forward joined FC Cincinnati on three-year deal from Danish Superliga outfit FC Nordsjaelland and after a month he made his debut for the club.
FC Cincinnati are at the bottom of the league table with one point after three round of matches in the United States Eastern Conference MLS.
Their next league fixture will be Inter Miami on May 16, 2021 when they will be searching for their first win of the season in the United States Eastern Conference MLS.
