Since completing his switch from the Porcupine Warriors to Algeria, the goal poacher is yet to feature for USM Algiers due to delay in paper works however it appears his documentation has been sorted and he is set to be unleashed by USM.
Opoku saw a meteoric rise to life in Asante Kotoko banging in seven goals in as many games he played in the Ghanaian top-flight which caught the eye of the technical handlers of the senior men’s national team culminating in his debut against South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Despite the jinx surrounding Ghanaian players who move to the Northern part of Africa, the young goal poacher is hoping to rewrite the history books for Ghanaian footballers in North Africa.
Opoku has already notched once against ES Setif – when Kotoko lost narrowly to the Algerian side in the CAF Confederations Cup – and USM Algiers might want to count on his prowess in his last outing against the same club tonight.
