Communications Director of Obuasi-based Ghana Premier League outfit AshGold, Eric Karikari has intimated his side do not have plans of replacing French coach Romain Folz in the foreseeable future; settling on assistant coach Thomas Duah as interim manager.
It would be recalled Romain Folz, 30, nicodemusly left his role as head coach of the Miners without informing his employers less than a month after his appointment.
Under his reign the Yellow and Blacks sustained a chain of good results bringing the three-time Ghanaian champions back in the title discussion but fell to an unexpected defeat to Elmina Sharks at the Paa Kwesi Nduom Sports complex last Sunday.
His unceremonious departure would leave a big hole in the technical department of Ashgold however the Obuasi-based side have settled on Thomas Duah on the interim with no plans of replacing the French tactician soon.
Expressing the decision of the club about who succeeds Folz as substantive manager Eric Karikari told Kumasi-based OTEC FM:
“There are few matches to end the season so management has appointed Thomas Duah to take charge of the team on an interim basis till the end of the season”
“We have no plans to bring in another coach as of now”, he ended.
