French Ligue 1 sides Lille, St Etienne, Stade de Reims and Bordeaux have all expressed interest in Gideon Mensah. The Ghanaian left back is currently on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes.

However, he’s expected to return to his parent club Red Bull Salzburg after the Portuguese club failed to meet his asking price.

Joy Sports sources confirmed that Mensah has attracted interest from all across Europe but his preference is to play in France.

So far Lille, St Etienne, Stade de Reims and Bordeaux have shown concrete interest in purchasing the Ghanaian this summer.

A final decision on which club the former WAFA defender plays will be taken after the upcoming international break in June.

Mensah has played 21 games for Vitoria Guimaraes this season and has been called for Ghana’s friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast next month.
