Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Braimah Akambi has continued to sing the praises of majority shareholder of the club, His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV for footing the medical bills of midfielder Daniel Kordie.
Kordie, who suffered a career threatening injury at the inception of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, successfully underwent a knee surgery in South Africa over the weekend.
The midfielder, who joined the Phobians from Liberty Professionals, received a heartwarming message from his team mates who displayed their well wishes to him ahead of the kick-off against Elmina Sharks – with Hearts clinching a two-nil win to go second.
After the surgery, Kodie thanked the Phobian fraternity for the help and support especially Togbe Afede XIV
“I am grateful to Hearts and especially to the Board Chairman. I really appreciate his support because without that my career would have ended abruptly.”
Singing the same chorus, the former National Chapters Committee (NCC) chairman, who is deemed as a close ally of the traditional ruler, also expressed his profound gratitude for the club’s decision to enplane crocked combative midfielder Daniel Kordie to South Africa for surgery.
“Hearts of oak is Togbe and Togbe is Hearts of oak, The cost of Daniel Kordie’s surgery is on Togbe Afede no doubt about that,” Alhaji Akambi told Accra-based Angel 102.9 FM.
He urged the supporters of the club to continually commend the majority shareholder as he has been a ‘blessing’ to the Phobian fraternity.
“I think we must all commend his Majesty Togbe Afede XIV for this wonderful gesture. We are residing in a first class area in South Africa”
“The man has been a blessing to our darling club. He has to be encouraged to do more for us. He deserves all the praises,” he told Fox 97.9 FM.
