Public Relations Officer of Ebusua Dwarfs, Abeiku Okyere has slammed the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association on their verdict in the abandoned match between his side and Legon Cities.

It would be recalled that earlier today, the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA ruled in favour of Legon Cities – who petitioned the football association to award them three points and three goals after their game against Ebusua Dwarfs was abandoned following the referee’s decision to discontinue the game due to threats posed at him by supporters of the home team.

This decision has not sat down well with some section of the football fraternity most especially the Dwarfs caucus with the Crabs registering their displeasure in a an official press statement, were the club described the verdict as ‘misleading and flawed’ and have appealed the decision.

Speaking to Accra-based Angel 102.9 FM, Abeiku Okyere intimated:

“There are inconsistencies in the Discipline committee’s ruling, we can’t accept that so we will appeal.”

He stressed the ‘Idekay Idepandey’ Boys want a replay of the abandoned match which ended after the first half with Legon Cities leading by a lone goal.

“We simply want the match to be replayed.”

The verdict has seen Dwarfs drop to the relegation zone just above lowly placed Inter Allies by goal difference with relegation looming as the season folds up.
