Devout Hearts of Oak fan cum journalist, Genevieve Naa Amerley Bardina has owned up in relation to the alleged leaked tape of a top Hearts of Oak official devising ways and means of ensuring the capital-based giants earns up as winners of the league.
In the supposed leaked audio, a conversation on how to manipulate the system to ensure Hearts wins the league was been planned by perceived members of Hearts of Oak’s supporters body, National Chapters Committee.
The audio has fuelled claims by some section of supporters suggesting people at the upper echelons of the football fraternity want Hearts to end their eleven-year drought for the league title.
But busting the bubbles of the conspiracy theorists and to some extent some section of Kotoko supporters, a known fan of the other side of the divide has owned up claiming the leaked tape was just in mockery of Nana Yaw Amponsah and there is no malice behind her statement.
“The leaked audio was a private conversation between my friend, who has a soft spot for Nana Yaw Amponsah, and I,” Naa Amerley Bardina revealed to Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM.
She continued: “I didn’t know he was recording it. I said it just to mock him,”
“Am not an NCC member of Hearts but a fan,” Naa Amerley stressed.
“Let me take the opportunity to apologize for it.”
It remains to be seen whether the Disciplinary Committee would call Naa Bardina for further clarity on the matter considering the rapid rate at which allegations about match fixing, influence peddling and bribery has been flying on the domestic scene as the league enters its twilight stage.
