Public Relations Officer of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has waded into widespread rumours of the Ghana Football Association aiding the Phobians to bring a halt to their eleven-year league drought.
According to news from the grapevine, the Kurt Okraku-led Ghana Football Association is bent on assisting the capital-based side in clinching the 2021 Ghana Premier League.
Fuelling the rumours was a supposed leaked tape, where a top official of Hearts of Oak NCC was heard plotting on influencing the rest of the games left in the top flight.
However, it appears the supposed tape was just a harmless conversation involving a Hearts of Oak fan mocking a friend.
Sharing his thoughts about the rumours hovering around the club and their title ambitions, the official mouthpiece of the club took a sly dig at their detractors.
“That’s their own cup of tea, we as Hearts of Oak, don’t bother ourselves about it. We won’t sit down for this to distract our focus,” Opare Addo told Kumasi based OTEC FM.
“We know things like this will come up, people will fabricate all manner of stories but for us, it is the focus that we are looking for and that’s our expectations” he ended.
The Phobians will cross swords with Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw park on Friday afternoon as they aim to maintain their unbeaten run.
