Tanzania Premier league giants of Azam FC and Simba SC are readying a bid for Medeama SC midfielder Rashid Nortey, Sportscorna.com can exclusively report.
Nortey, 25, has been growing in leaps and bounds since joining Tarkwa-based Medeama SC a couple of seasons ago and recently received a call up to the local Black Stars following his stupendous performance in the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight.
He has racked up five goals and notched three assists in the Ghana Premier League accompanied with his enviable attributes in the midfield zone – press resistance and passing range when under pressure and comes as little surprise his characteristics has convinced suitors outside the shores of the country.
Tanzania is not a new haven for Ghanaian players with erstwhile Ashgold midfield linchpin Bernard Morrison, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora, Yahaya Mohammed et al blazing the trail in the Eastern part of Africa.
Both Azam and Simba FC who are not afraid to splurge the cash will tempt Medeama SC to part ways with their midfield icon as they seek to beef up their respective squad with the talented player.
He will join a star-studded Black Stars midfield that has Arsenal man Thomas Partey and Ajax big money investment Mohammed Kudus as well as Abdul Fatawu, Emmanuel Lomotey, Baba Idrissu and Gladson Awako of Great Olympics.
Meanwhile, capital-based heavyweights Hearts of Oak are lurking around to snatch the midfielder with his former Coach Samuel Boadu yearning to bring him to Accra at the end of the season.
