Cyprus-based Ghanaian attacker Kingsley Sarfo believes Asante Kotoko will annex the 2020-2021 Ghana Premier League.
Sarfo, who currently plies his trade with Olympiakos Nicosia, has tipped the Porcupine Warriors to clinch the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight despite the Fabulous Lads’ second position on the league log.
With seven games left connoisseurs of the game have predicted a photo finish as the two most glamorous clubs in the country are locked in a fierce battle of who will be crowned winners of a very competitive season after many years of stop-start due to a myriad of reasons.
Hearts of Oak – nineteen time winners of the Ghana Premier League – are currently in pole position, two points ahead of eternal nemesis Asante Kotoko and any slip up could see the former extend the point margin or see the latter close up and overtake the other.
Adding his voice to the debate on who wins the league, the former Malmo FF and Sirius midfielder tipped Asante Kotoko ahead of Hearts of Oak despite his close ties with Phobian assistant coach Hamza Obeng.
“Though my former coach [at Adu Gyamfi SHS] Hamza Obeng is their [Hearts of Oak] assistant coach, I tip Kotoko to win this year’s league” – Kingsley Sarfo told OTEC FM.
“I won’t pray for him (Hamza) to fail, he will succeed at Hearts but I’m sure Kotoko will win this league” he ended.
He was a member of the Adu Gyamfi SHS school football team that won the Ashanti Regional Inter-School Soccer Competition in 2013.
